| First
begun in 1991, Catherine's Fund was established as a means to encourage
new and innovative ways of responding to issues that improve a community's
health and quality of life, especially for people who are economically
poor. At a funding level of $1 million dollars payable over a three-year
period, the fund is intended to have a much greater impact on the community
in which it is granted than Mercy's other grantmaking program, Mercy
Caritas, which has an annual award limit of $50,000.
On this Web site, Grant
application materials for the most recent funding cycle of Catherine's
Fund may be downloaded. The current funding cycle will continue through
June 30, 2007. The application deadline for the next cycle of grant funding
is February 23, 2007. Descriptions of 2001-2004
Catherine's Fund recipients and previous recipients are also available
for review.
