Date Night Dinner for New Parents

The stork brought dinner too!
Mercy offers a date night experience for new moms and dads getting ready to leave the hospital.

A gorgeous view, great steaks, personal service – it’s all at one of Ft. Smith’s most exclusive restaurants. In fact, you can’t get a reservation without a newborn.
St. Edward Mercy is pleased to offer a special date night in the Vista dining room.  The dining room is located on the hospital’s fifth floor, just above labor and delivery. This special meal is for new moms and dads the night before they leave the hospital.

The experience begins when a maître’d arrives at the mother’s hospital room door to escort her and her guest to the dining room. The attire is come-as-you-are with robes and slippers welcome. Once there, parents enjoy a three course meal of salad, ribeye steak or garlic parmesan chicken with baked potato and vegetables finished off with a dessert of chocolate lava cake or cheesecake.  All this is served with a glass of sparking grape juice so the couple can toast their new arrival.

“We’re so happy to be able to treat new parents to our gorgeous view, great steaks and personal service,” said Melinda Robertson of the hospital’s food services team. “This is such a special time and parents are going to remember everything about it. We want them to have good memories.”

There’s no new parent guilt with this dinner either.  The babysitting for this special date night is provided by some of the best in the business – the nurses in the hospital nursery.
