Cancer Care

The need for cancer care in our community is growing, and Mercy is responding. Right here in Independence, Mercy’s cancer center offers chemotherapy five days a week, oncologist clinics weekly, transfusion services and medication injections. We serve patients through more than 200 visits per month.

Through a local fund-raising effort, we were able to expand our cancer center. We added new features for privacy and comfort, including new recliners for chemotherapy, plus blanket warmers and individual televisions at every station.

Our cancer services are a satellite of the Cancer Center of Kansas based in Wichita. As part of Mercy, you can be assured that when you come to us for cancer care, you and your local doctor have access to a large team of medical professionals and resources that complement the trusted care you receive in Independence.
