National Stop the Bleed Day

Saturday, March 31, 2018 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM  (CST)

No matter how quickly professional emergency responders arrive, bystanders will always be first on the scene.  A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes if it is not stopped.  "Stop the Bleed" is a nationwide campaign to empower individuals to act quickly and save lives.  Collaborative members of the City of Springfield are proud to offer a FREE Stop the Bleed course open to the public which offers hands-on training in hemorrhage control (uncontrolled life-threatening bleeding) techniques. These techniques include use of tourniquets and wound packing. The course will begin at 9am and is typically one hour in duration. Additional courses will be added as needed.

City of Springifeld National Stop the Bleed Day Sponsors: CoxHealth, Mercy, Missouri State University, Ozarks Technical Community College, Springfield Fire Department and Springfield Police Department.
