Sisters of Mercy Health System Names Medical Director

St. Louis (August 18, 2009) – The Sisters of Mercy Health System (Mercy) has named Tom Hale, MD, Ph.D., to the position of medical director for Mercy’s Center for Innovative Care. In this role, Dr. Hale will work with Mercy’s leadership and the physician community to advance our plans for transforming how Mercy delivers care and responds to the health needs of our communities.

Dr. Hale has been associated with Mercy for 30 years, including 23 as a practicing physician. He most recently served as president of St. John’s Mercy Medical Group in St. Louis, a position he held for 15 years, and as the physician leader for the implementation of an electronic health record system across the four-state Mercy system.

“Dr. Hale’s experience as an internal medicine physician and his entrepreneurial spirit, combined with his varied leadership background and professional commitment to Mercy, will contribute significantly to the exciting future of our health system,” said Lynn Britton, Mercy President and CEO.
