APPOINTS NEW EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT/CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
St. Louis, MO (March 10, 2004)
– The Sisters of Mercy Health System (Mercy) has named John Sullivan
to the position of Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer.
Sullivan has spent the last 20 years
in Catholic healthcare, serving in leadership positions at both the facility
and system level. Most recently, he served as executive vice president of Loyola
University Health System in the Chicago area, with responsibility for hospital
operations and all service lines, as well as system oversight for areas such
as service excellence, human resources, and a variety of management forum and
satisfaction programs. Sullivan holds a bachelor of science degree from Marquette
University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a master of science degree in hospital
and healthcare administration from the University of Iowa.

The Sisters of Mercy Health System (Mercy)

related health and human services in a seven state area including Arkansas,
Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. Its members include
