Hot Springs Diabetes Walk May 18

Mercy Hospital Hot Springs is hosting a Community Walk to Stop Diabetes on Saturday, May 18 at 8 a.m. at Garvan Woodland Gardens.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and donations will be accepted. Participants making at least a $10 donation will receive a drawstring backpack. Participants will also receive free admission to Garvan Woodland Gardens. The walk will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m.

Afterward, Chef Dana Herbert and Novo Nordisk will hold a healthy cooking demonstration and educational workshop at the Garvan Woodland Gardens pavilion. They’ll show how to make a low carb dish.

Community Walk to Stop Diabetes is a new initiative of the American Diabetes Association's movement to Stop Diabetes. These local grass roots walk events are organized by local Volunteer Walk Coordinators in towns and cities across the country.
