No matter where you are, stress can find you; so what better time than now to arm yourself with tools to fight it?
Look no further than Mercy Women’s Heart Center, which kicks off a three-week “Stress-Less Class” this Thursday to pinpoint unique stress responses and offer advice on how to change them.
The first session will run 5:30-6:45 p.m. on Feb. 6, and will continue the same time each Thursday through Feb. 20. The $39 course will offer advice to women on how to change attitudes about everyday stress and provide coping skills to reduce the effect of stressful events.
“While taking care of the external you, let’s not forget about what’s happening on the inside. Stress can weaken the body and mind,” said Adam Pruett with Mercy Nutrition Center and Healthstyles. “The stress-less classes can help you find a calming center.”
Mercy Women’s Heart Center is located inside the north entrance of Hammons Heart Institute at 1325 E. Cherokee in Springfield, Mo. Registration is required before Wednesday, Feb. 6 – call (417) 820-3666 or 1-800-200-9000. Mercy co-workers may use their individual tuition reimbursement funding.
Stress-less classes will also be held in May (8,15 and 22) and October (9, 16 and 23). Mercy Women’s Heart Center also offers cooking school classes, personal consultations and heart risk assessments. To learn more, visit http://bit.ly/WomensHeartCtr.
