TROY, Mo. – Mercy Hospital Lincoln, formerly Lincoln County Medical Center, became part of Mercy on March 1 and held a blessing and celebration on March 5 with co-workers along with Mercy and community leaders.

As a critical access hospital, Mercy Hospital Lincoln falls under the leadership of Mercy Hospital St. Louis’ president Jeff Johnston. In addition to Johnston’s leadership, Tony Rothermich was named local administrator.

“Tony knows the area and will be a great leader for the Lincoln County communities, bringing with him energy and enthusiasm,” Johnston said. “I’m confident that co-workers, patients and residents will enjoy his leadership style and sense of mission.”

Rothermich, who was born in the hospital where he will now serve as administrator, has been with Mercy for 22 years in expanding leadership roles. He earned his undergraduate degree in health care management from Maryville University and a master’s in business administration from Lindenwood University.

Since joining Mercy in 1993, Rothermich managed different aspects of the business office before transitioning to Mercy Hospital St. Louis as the executive director of patient access and health information management. Most recently, he served as vice president of operations with accountability for lab services, respiratory therapy, patient relations, gastroenterology and emergency services.

“As a life-long resident of northwestern St. Charles County, I know convenience and location matter when it comes to health care services,” Rothermich said. “I’m looking forward to bringing Mercy into the community and building the collaboration between Mercy Hospital Lincoln and Mercy Hospital St. Louis, so we can grow stronger together.”

Rothermich will continue oversight for emergency services at Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

Established in 1953, Mercy Hospital Lincoln has 28 beds, medical clinics in Troy, Elsberry and Winfield, 355 co-workers and 52 active providers on its medical staff. Joining hospitals in St. Louis, Crystal City and Washington, it is Mercy’s fourth hospital in eastern Missouri and the 35th across Mercy’s four-state area.
