Cancer Care
An estimated 1.33 million new cases of cancer were diagnosed
in 2003. Cancer accounts for nearly one-quarter of deaths in the United
States, exceeded only by heart disease. In men, cancers of the prostate,
lung, colon and rectum, and urinary bladder are diagnosed most often.
In women, cancers of the breast, lung, color and rectum, and uterus are
diagnosed most often.

Leukemia
is the most common cancer among children ages 0 to 14 years and it comprises
approximately 30% of all childhood cancers. Cancer of the brain/other
nervous system is the second most common cancer in children.
