Appointments

You can make an appointment at the hospital for many services with one call to 417-820-8080. We’ll make every effort to see you at your appointed time. If you’re running late, please call to let us know so that we can adjust your appointment and accommodate our other patients.
 

Mail

We’ll deliver mail to your room every morning. Stamps and stationery are available in the Gift Shop. Give your outgoing mail to your nurse or to a volunteer for mailing.

Escorts

For those with special needs, a hospital escort is available to help you. Patients with visual impairment, who use wheelchairs or who have difficulty walking can ask for help in any patient care area or at the Information Desks. There is no charge for this service.
 

Patient Relations

While we strive to provide quality health care and services to our patients, we understand that you may have concerns related to your hospitalization. A representative from our Patient Relations office is available to help facilitate resolution of a patient complaint or concern. If you need assistance, do not hesitate to contact Patient Relations at 417-820-9272.

Social Services

Our social workers are available to help patients and family members deal with financial, social and emotional problems that relate to illness or hospitalization, including planning for long-term illnesses and rehabilitation. If you'd like to speak with a social worker, please ask your nurse and they will schedule that service for you. Social Services can be reached Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.For more information call 417-820-3462.

Medical Library Services

Van K. Smith Community Health Library– located in C.H. ‘Chub’ O’Reilly Cancer Center, Cancer Resource Center, 2055 South Fremont Avenue serves patients, family members, and members of the community.

Support Groups

We know how hard it is to face a loved one’s serious illness. Support and bereavement groups can help. For a complete listing of support groups and times, go to mercy.net.
 

Spiritual Care

At Mercy, spiritual care is available to all patients and their families, regardless of religious preference or beliefs. St. John’s chapel, which is always open, is located on the 6thfloor.  

Ethics Consultation

If you or your family has questions about a medical ethical issue, we have an ethicist on staff and an Ethics Committee at Mercy. Call 417-820-2153 from outside the hospital for an ethics consultation.
