Trauma and Burn Care

St. John’s Hospital treats severe traumas around the clock in one of the state’s most advanced, and most active, trauma centers. St. John's is also home to the only dedicated Burn Unit in Southwest Missouri.

And St. John’s is committed to providing access to rapid critical care throughout the community. With 14 EMS ground units and three helicopter sites strategically located across the region, we’re able to quickly reach patients over a 6800 square mile area.

• When patients arrive, a complete St. John's burn/trauma team, from trauma surgeons to registered nurses and burn technicians, will be standing by to help.
• To reduce healing time for skin grafts in burn patients, St. John’s Medical Research Institute pioneered and developed the Silver/Nylon Wound Dressing.
• In partnership with Kohl’s, our Injury Prevention Program reaches over 80,000 people each year through educational programs such as car seat, bike and ATV safety in addition to a teen driving program focused on keeping your child safe.
