Emergency Medical Service and Life Line

If you have a medical emergency, our team’s rapid response can make the difference. Mercy is known for prompt patient care and the highest quality emergency medical services. We’re the region’s busiest trauma center, but we serve every patient with personalized attention and support.

Our highly trained EMS team responds to more than 42,000 emergencies a year with advanced equipment.  We provide service to the Springfield-Greene County area and to locations throughout southwest and central Missouri. Overall, we provide emergency medical services to 14 counties with a coverage area exceeding 6,800 square miles.

Mercy's Life Line has provided safe, rapid, air transport for emergency patients since 1984.

Our flight crews include a registered nurse, a paramedic and a pilot who respond to life-threatening emergencies including trauma, medical, or obstetrical. Crews respond to an emergency scene, where a ground unit assists the crew, or to a hospital to transfer a critically ill patient. Life Line is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems.
