Cancer Information Center

The John F. Krey III Cancer Information Center is committed to health promotion, education, early detection and support for cancer patients who are trying to find the best way to cope with a serious disease affecting nearly every aspect of their lives. Thousands of people each year turn to the center for answers to questions regarding cancer risk, methods of prevention and early detection, as well as disease process and treatment options.

The Cancer Information Center is staffed by oncology certified nurses and an oncology social worker who help direct cancer patients and their family members in the search for information and support. They help clients develop questions to discuss with their physicians, assist them in interpreting that information, and then provide the support needed to achieve the best possible quality of life. Among the resources offered in the center are:

  • An extensive library of books, articles, brochures and videotapes
  • Internet access
  • Wigs and turbans
  • Information about resources in the community
  • Monthly educational classes
  • Cancer awareness events
