Neurosciences

When it comes to stroke, minutes matters. Know the warning signs of stroke and THINK FASST. Mercy’s commitment to treating strokes and saving lives begins at the Emergency Room door and lasts through inpatient care and rehabilitative services. Our dedication to quick, life-saving care is one reason we’re certified as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission.

  • Our constant quest for the latest research and newest treatments gives our stroke patients the best chance for recovery. We are always working to expand awareness of stroke symptoms and reduce time from door-to-treatment.
  • Because quick intervention is key to successful stroke treatment, a Mercy neurologist meets stroke patients at  the Emergency Department doors. And our certified stroke care professionals, including emergency specialists, nurses, hospitalists, pharmacists and technicians, are always ready to mobilize 24/7 to collaborate and coordinate their care.
  • When strokes cause brain damage, the Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital provides advanced treatments and compassionate care. The ten-bed stroke unit offers a reduced-distraction therapy environment, advanced treatment options and specialty-trained rehabilitation professionals.

If you think you are having a stroke, call 911.
