Mercy Medical Plaza of Arma Expands Hours

Mercy Medical Plaza of Arma announces the clinic will expand hours to five days a week beginning
October 11.

New Hours for Medical Plaza of Arma beginning October 11 are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. with Monday hours from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

In fall 2009, the clinic closed briefly due to low volumes. After gathering input from local residents and community leaders, the clinic reopened two days a week.

Further evaluation of the need for accessible health care in the area leads Mercy Administration to operate the clinic full-time.

Clinic staff has been hired and is training on the electronic medical record system. All patient records and documentation will be linked to Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott and other Mercy hospitals which are currently utilizing the electronic medical records system.

The Medical Plaza of Arma providers will be Kimberly Burns, Nurse Practitioner; Elizabeth McDowell, R.N.; and Lynsay Arkeketa, Receptionist.

Burns has practiced nursing for 17 years with a wide variety of clinical experience. Her interests include primary care for all ages including hypertension, pediatrics, diabetes, lipid management and wellness.

The clinic will also continue to provide the comprehensive healthcare services such as acute care and minor emergencies, preventative care and immunizations, chronic disease management, well baby and well child checks, well woman services, laboratory services, EKGs, sports and activity physicals and much more.
