Strokes Can Happen at Any Age

Strokes often are thought to only happen to older people. So when a younger person is impacted, like Bret Michaels, it makes the news and raises awareness. About 10 to 12 percent of stroke patients are under the age of 45. Unlike older patients, whose strokes tend to be a result of their lifestyle, strokes in the young are frequently caused by medical conditions they didn't even know they had.
