Molly Weldon was named vice president of Physician Practice Operations and Support for Mercy physicians that are based in the Franklin County region. It is a newly created position for Mercy.
“This position was designed in part to bring additional physicians to the Washington communities,” said Terri L. McLain, president of St. John’s Mercy Hospital. “In Molly, we have someone with many years of proven experience and positive relationships. We are happy to have her here on a fulltime basis, seeing to the needs of our current physicians and working hard to recruit not just additional physicians, but additional physicians who are excellent at what they do and will be a great fit for Mercy.”
Weldon has 19 years experience in medical practice management. Before being named vice president, she was director of physician practice management for St. John’s Mercy, serving the St. Louis and Franklin County regions. Prior to her work with Mercy, she was responsible for regional and national consulting work in physician practice management. She is a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) through the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).
Weldon’s work includes helping doctors with the business components of their practices so they can focus on treating patients and keeping up with changes in advancing medicine. As vice president, those duties will be concentrated on physicians in Washington and the Franklin County region.
Another aspect of Weldon’s new position is ensuring growth that keeps up with an increasing population and changes in the service areas for St. John’s Mercy Hospital.
“Much of our work is focused on bringing more primary care physicians and specialists to the communities we serve,” said Weldon. “Part of my job will be showing physicians that they will be able to work in partnership with St. John’s Mercy Hospital to bring best health care services to their patients.”
