Mercy Children’s Hospital recently announced the appointment of Christine Crain RN, MSN, to a newly created position of senior vice president of operations. In this role, she will have responsibility to lead strategic planning, program development and operations for Mercy Children’s Hospital. With a new leadership structure, Mercy Children’s will move into the future by continuing to grow and develop programs that respond to the demands for services within our community. Mercy Children’s, with nearly 200 beds dedicated to the care of children, serves as the flagship location for children’s services within the larger four-state Mercy system.
Crain will continue in the role of service line administrator for Women’s Services and Clinical Informatics with St. John’s Mercy Medical Center. She most has recently served as the Chief Nurse Executive at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center for 21 years with responsibility for the provision of patient care including quality, safety, human resource and financial management. Crain is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and the American Organization of Nurse Executives. She earned her BSN and MSN at St. Louis University and is certified as an advanced nurse administrator.
