St. John’s – St. Francis Hospital hosted their annual Auxiliary Luncheon on April 21. This luncheon honors the auxiliary as a collective group as well as the individual members for their contributions and achievements throughout the year.
The auxiliary members voted by secret ballot and selected Mike Wason as Volunteer of the Year 2011. Mike is currently the president of the auxiliary and works at the St. John’s – St. Francis Hospital Gift Shop as well as the St. John’s – St. Francis Hospital Thrift Store.
A cumulative total of 5,653.75 hours were volunteered within the past year. If the auxiliary members were paid at a wage of $7.25 an hour, this would have added up to be $40,989.69!
The auxiliary member who volunteered the most total hours was Helen Spencer with 762 hours. A close second was Gwen Counts with 733.5 hours.
Members were presented with a gift in observance of National Volunteer Recognition Week. Also, they all were entered into a drawing for a $100 Wal-Mart gift card. Helen Spencer was the lucky winner!
