Steven Braun, MD, has joined Mercy Clinic-Radiation Oncology in Springfield. Dr. Braun received his medical education from the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine where he also completed his residency training. He is board certified in Radiation Oncology and is a member of the Kansas Medical Society and the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.
Bruce Kater, OD, has joined Mercy Eye Specialists-Optometry-Surgery Center in Springfield. Dr. Kater received his medical education from the University Of Houston School Of Optometry. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association.
Anna Sell joined Mercy Medical Research Institute as a Research Scientist I. She has her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Ted Shockley has accepted the position of Director for the Emergency Department at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Shockley, a graduate of the Burge School of Nursing, has worked for Mercy Hospital for the last thirteen years in leadership positions in Neuro Trauma, Preoperative Services and most recently serving as Director of the Trauma Program. In his current role, he has led the Trauma program to a successful Missouri recertification and certification for the State of Arkansas as a Level I recognized program. He is a Certified Instructor in ACLS and PALS, Site Coordinator for ATLS and a Certified CNRN. Shockley is also a State Trauma Surveyor and serves on various state committees for Missouri and Arkansas.
Kris Strong has accepted the role of Interim Nursing Director of Orthopedics in Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Strong brings over 18 years of nursing experience to her role with 10 years in nursing management. In May, she will be completing the program to attain a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Webster University.
Staci Fletcher was promoted to Assistant Director of Mercy Central Access at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. She has been with Mercy since June of 1998, and has held a manager role in Patient Access since November of 2004. Fletcher graduated from Missouri State University with a degree in Business.
