Internist Jenny Navarro, MD, has joined St. Joseph’s Mercy Clinic – 270 West in Hot Springs.
Navarro comes to Mercy from Jefferson Comprehensive Care System and Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, where she worked since 2007. She did her medical residency at State University of New York—Health and Science Center of Brooklyn. She is board certified in Internal Medicine.
Internal Medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of adult diseases. Internists are skilled in the management of patients who have undifferentiated or multi-symptom disease processes.
“I just wanted to meet a lot of people and help them with their medical problems,” Navarro said of her decision to pursue Internal Medicine. “I’m able to see a lot of different types of patients.”
Dr. Navarro’s patients have access to MyMercy, St. Joseph’s Mercy’s patient portal to the electronic health record. Patients are able to schedule appointments, check prescriptions and email questions.
“Everything has been helpful so far,” she said. “The hospital has been really good to me.”
While Navarro might be new to Hot Springs, her family isn’t. Her husband, Alexander Navarro, MD, is a Hospitalist at St. Joseph’s Mercy. They have four children and ranging in age from 3 to 9.
“We’re always spending time with the kids,” she said. “Hot Springs has been great. I love the people. They’re so friendly and there are so many things to do here. I think the city really does have a lot to offer.”
Dr. Navarro is seeing patients at 2828 Albert Pike in Hot Springs. Her office can be reached by calling (501) 767-9111 or by visiting www.mercy.net.
