John Mantovani, MD, has been named chair of the Department of Pediatrics for Mercy Children’s Hospital. Dr. Mantovani graduated from the University of Missouri Medical School in Columbia in 1974. He completed two residencies in Pediatrics and Neurology and a fellowship in Child Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. He is board certified in Pediatrics, Neurology with Special Competence in Child Neurology and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities.
Dr. Mantovani has been a member of the medical staff at Mercy since 1984. He has been instrumental in the development of the Pediatrics program and the Mercy Children’s Therapy and Development Center, which he founded in 1985.
Mercy Children’s Hospital is designated by National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI) as a “children’s hospital-within-a-hospital,” located on the Mercy Hospital St. Louis campus. Mercy Children’s Hospital is one of only 250 children’s hospitals in the U.S. and the only one in St. Louis County.
