Cardiologist Deryk McDowell, MD, will join Dr. Joseph Moore and Dr. Joseph Polizzi at Mercy Heart and Vascular in Washington starting March 7.
Dr. McDowell has been a member of Mercy Heart and Vascular since 2009. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. Dr. McDowell specializes in implantation and management of cardiac rhythm devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators. He will share his time between Mercy Heart and Vascular offices in St. Louis and Washington. He is coming to Washington to offer patients the scheduling conveniences of a third cardiologist.
“I’ve met numerous patients from the Franklin County region at my office in St. Louis as well as the times I’ve already spent in Washington over the past several years,” said Dr. McDowell. “The patients are very appreciative of the services offered in their hometown hospital and a pleasure to get to know and take care of. I’m happy to join our Washington office to serve the needs of our patients there.”
Heart care at Mercy Washington includes board certified cardiologists and interventional cardiologists, a 24-hour cardiac catheterization lab that is stopping heart attacks as they happen, an accredited chest pain center, a certified cardiac rehabilitation center and the only state designated Level III trauma center between St. Louis and Jefferson City.
