St. Louis, Mo. – Mercy Health Foundation St. Louis appointed Tessa Trelz chair of its board of directors. Trelz, a partner at Armstrong Teasdale, will also serve as a member of Mercy Health East Communities Board.
As a long-time supporter of Mercy, Trelz joined Mercy Health Foundation Board in 2007 and has served as vice chair and chair of the budget and allocations committee. Her commitment to programs including the Heart to Heart Fair and Remarkable Women event has helped Mercy provide quality health care to the community. She has a solid understanding of Mercy’s mission and a strong belief in the work of the Foundation.
“Tessa is a true asset and always ensures the Foundation’s philanthropic programs and services benefit patient care and the community. We are excited to have her serve as board chair - her enthusiasm and commitment to Mercy and the health of our community are unyielding,” said Patricia Arnold, Mercy’s vice president of philanthropy.
Mercy Health Foundation, a non-profit organization, raises philanthropic funds to help Mercy Hospital meet the community’s health care needs. Its 21-member board provides support and guidance to the Foundation’s many philanthropic programs and services, which support charity care, patient education, advanced medical technologies, new construction and renovations.
Mercy is the eighth largest Catholic health care system in the United States and serves over three million people annually. Mercy includes 31 hospitals, more than 200 outpatient facilities, 38,000 co-workers and 1,600 integrated physicians in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Mercy also has outreach ministries in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
