Words like "epidemic" and "outbreak" can easily cause panic -- especially when the subject is West Nile virus, against which there aren't many lines of defense. With hopes to dispell some frightening West Nile myths, Mercy Clinic I-35's Dr. David Johnson sat down with KFOR's Ali Meyer.
The U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) regularly updates its website with statistics. The latest posted statistics (Sept. 4, 2012) state Oklahoma has seen 113 confirmed cases of the disease, and the eighth death in Oklahoma from West Nile was confirmed Sept. 11, 2012.
