Digital mammography unit in Lebanon

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Mercy Hospital Lebanon is hosting a digital mammography unit open house from 4-6 p.m. this Thursday, Oct. 11.

Mammography technologists will be available to give tours and answer questions about digital mammography, and guests will be able to view the differences between analog and digital imaging.  In addition, information will be present about oncology services and assistance from the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, which helps women without insurance or the means to get a mammogram.

Mercy installed the digital mammography unit in May.  Systems like this have been proven to significantly increase breast cancer detection rates.

The open house is a come and go event, and snacks will be provided.  Guests should come to the hospital main entrance to be directed to the open house
