CASSVILLE, Mo. - Mercy Hospital Cassville Auxiliary provides a unique opportunity to share talents and skills in order to promote health and wellness throughout the community. Mercy’s auxiliary is a charitable organization of both men and women of all ages who want to bring the Mercy mission to life which states, “As the Sisters of Mercy before us, we bring to life the healing ministry of Jesus through our compassionate care and exceptional service.” Mercy volunteers help light up the lives of the people throughout the community.
There are many different opportunities available. Ranging from helping with special events, sitting on certain committees, to serving as an elected member of the board of directors. Members are able to choose their level of involvement that will suit their needs and special talents.
Auxiliary activities include blood drives, crafts, fundraisers, garage sales, luncheons, and working in the gift shop. Volunteers for these activities are a huge benefactor when it comes to raising funds to support hospital projects, equipment purchases, and scholarships for local students.
Since 2004, Mary Lou Adams has been helping with elections, campaigning, and the hospital auxiliary. She expressed, “Some people volunteer because they have been given so much that they want to give back. For me, it’s the warm, fuzzy feeling I get.”
