Mercy Pain Management Specialist Announces Clinic in Fort Scott

Fort Scott – Pain Management Specialist David Tonkin, MD, is pleased to announce that beginning Tuesday, March 26 he will hold clinic for patients on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at Mercy Medical Plaza located at 902 S. Horton in Fort Scott. 

“My greatest sense of accomplishment has come from providing relief to patients who were in excruciating pain,” Tonkin said.  “I want to provide that service in the most professional and respectful way.”

Tonkin is affiliated with Mercy Clinic Joplin.  In addition to his clinic in Fort Scott, he will also see patients in Independence, KS, Joplin and Carthage, MO.

Tonkin received his Medical Degree from American University of the Caribbean and completed residencies at the Department of Family Practice, West Virginia University – Martinsburg; the Department of Family Practice, University of Pittsburg Medical Center; and the Department of Anesthesia, West Penn Hospital.  Tonkin completed a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at the renowned Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, MI.  He is board certified in Anesthesiology and holds certifications in Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Life Support Pediatrics & Neonates
