Hot Springs, Arkansas (August 1, 2013) – Mercy Hospital Hot Springs is proud to welcome Dr. Brandon Byrd to our orthopedic clinic.
Dr. Byrd is a Jonesboro native who attended Lyon College in Batesville and UAMS in Little Rock. He comes to Hot Springs after spending the past five years in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Dr. Byrd majored in Biology at Lyon College, where he was also a standout basketball player. He won the Williamson Award, given to the best performance in Science studies. He moved on to UAMS, where he graduated from the College of Medicine in 2008.
“I grew up playing sports and Orthopedics was a natural fit for me,” said Dr. Byrd, who started Aug. 1. “I always thought I wanted to do that.”
Dr. Byrd joins the Mercy Clinic Orthopedic roster that includes Dr. Robert Olive, Dr. Chris Young, Dr. Michael Young and Dr. Cari Cordell. Their offices are located at 1662 Higdon Ferry Road, Suite 300, in Hot Springs (on Mercy’s South Campus). The office number is 501-321-2663.
“The group here is really great. That was one of the selling points for me wanting to come here,” Dr. Byrd said. “The group really made me feel at home. They were very helpful and are very good doctors. I look forward to working with them.”
