He may have international roots and speak four different languages, but Dr. Nicolas Martinez was anxious to settle down in small-town Missouri.
Born in Montreal, Canada, Dr. Martinez moved at a young age to Paraguay to be near his extended family. He attended medical school there and completed his residency at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. “I chose Mountain View because I liked the town a lot and all the outdoor activities this area has to offer,” said Dr. Martinez. “I enjoy being in nature and I love sports - especially soccer.”
Dr. Martinez says he was also impressed with all the support the Mercy system brings to local doctors. “I knew I’d have access to consultations with specialists, imaging services and physical and occupational therapy. That helps me diagnose and treat my patients quickly and appropriately. I want them to know I will go the extra mile to be sure they receive the proper care.”
Dr. Martinez is accepting new patients and along with English, he speaks fluent Spanish. Mercy Clinic Family Medicine – Mountain View is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Just call (417) 934-2251 to schedule an appointment.
