Living Well with Chronic Illness

October 10, 2013

Living well with a chronic illness is a marathon, not a sprint. To live a healthy life with a chronic condition such as diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, or COPD, we have to train for a marathon – which means adopting some new habits that will keep us stronger and healthier over time.

While most of us go to the doctor when we’re sick and expect that if we follow our doctor’s advice, we’ll soon be healthy and well again, it’s different for those with chronic illnesses.

Living with a chronic condition doesn’t have to run your life. Learn to manage symptoms of the illness between appointments. If you or someone  you love is living with a chronic illness join us for a free “Living a Healthy Life” class to  learn how to partner with your doctor to manage medications, stress level, nutritional needs, and more.  Classes are free, open to the public and held from 10:a.m. to noon on Wednesdays starting Oct. 16. To get registered, call 417.625.2492.
