Mercy Hospital Auxiliary will host simultaneous holiday events Saturday, Nov. 2, from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The auxiliary’s annual holiday bazaar will be conducted at the First Christian Church, 10th & Laurel in Independence, while a special open
house celebration is planned at the same time in the Coffee Dock snack bar and gift shop at Mercy Hospital.
The bazaar will feature a variety of handmade Christmas décor and craft items, along with raffle drawings. Raffle tickets are available for a $1 donation and may be purchased at the bazaar or in advance at the Coffee Dock or from any auxiliary member.
Homemade cinnamon rolls and lunch items also will be available for purchase at the bazaar.
At the Coffee Dock gift shop, guests at the open house will be treated to sampling of “Mom & I’s” candy made in Everest, Kan., along with door prizes, refreshments and special discounts on gift merchandise.
The gift shop carries a variety of quality jewelry, household decorations and personal gift items ordered from retail market shows.
A sampling of the items to be offered at the holiday are now on display at the former Litwin's building in downtown Independence, next to Twig's Floral.
Proceeds from the events support the auxiliary’s pledge toward the hospital foundation’s “Vision Forward” campaign for hospital facility improvements, as well as the auxiliary’s scholarship program to support students pursuing medical careers.
