Mercy Hospital Lebanon Hosting Adult Flu Clinic

November 14, 2013

Anyone 18 and older can get a vaccine for $20

Have you gotten your flu shot yet? Avoid the winter aches with a stop to Mercy Hospital Lebanon just before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Nurses will be on hand Tuesday, Nov. 26, to administer $20 flu vaccines to anyone 18 and older. The flu clinic will be open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside conference rooms 3 and 4 on the main floor of the hospital, located at 100 Hospital Drive.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, flu activity usually peaks in January or February, but seasonal flu can strike as early as October.

The best way to prevent the flu is to get a vaccine each year, but “other forms of prevention include hand washing and using alcohol-based sanitizer, covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze with a tissue, and avoid touching your eyes, mouth and nose when possible,” said Rachel Bailey, director of wellness services. “And be sure to stay home if you’re sick.”

No appointment is necessary for the clinic; your insurance will not be billed. To learn more about the 2013-2014 flu season, visit http://CDC.gov.
