The Valley View Foundation has been renamed Mercy Health Foundation Ada. Effective Oct. 25, 2013, the foundation’s transition comes a few months after the community hospital (formerly Valley View Regional Hospital) transitioned to Mercy Hospital Ada as part of long term lease agreement giving Mercy full operational authority of the hospital.
Since its founding in 2004, the foundation has awarded more than $750,000 in funding through internal grants. Through the foundation’s internal grant program, significant improvements and purchases have been made including mammography center remodel, Harmony LED Examination Lighting System used for clearer insertion of IV’s in pediatrics, a cordless illumination system to improve visualization and a handrail scale for immobile patients in the cancer center and a Nautilus Recumbent Bike for outpatient rehab.
From inception the foundation has been governed by a local board of directors comprised of leaders from across the hospital’s service area; this form of governance will continue. All seventeen directors of the Valley View Foundation have made the transition to become Mercy Health foundation Ada board members.
The Mercy Health Foundation Ada will remain focused on building partnerships and improving community health. The foundation board plans to continue internal grants and fund capital needs in the hospital.
“It truly is a wonderful opportunity for our foundation to become part of the Mercy Health Foundation,” said Todd Essary, director of Mercy Health Foundation Ada. “We are thankful to those who started the Valley View foundation and will always remember their great beginnings. With the added resources and support we have with Mercy Health Foundation, we look forward to growing and continuing to support our hospital.”
