Bev Zemlock and Elegance on Pennsylvania Avenue in downtown Independence have once again donated a fully decorated Christmas tree as a fund-raising raffle prize to benefit he Cancer Center at Mercy Hospital.
The elaborately decorated tree, complete with old-fashioned Santa ornaments and valued at approximately $1,000, will be raffled Dec. 31, and proceeds will benefit the Cancer Center.
The tree is currently set up at the Cancer Center, 800 W. Laurel, to cheer patients, and an identical tree is on display at the Elegance on Pennsylvania Avenue store, 221 N. Penn. Raffle tickets are available at both the Cancer Center and the store for $5 each or a group of five tickets for $20.
Mercy’s treatment center operates as a satellite clinic of the Cancer Center of Kansas, based in Wichita, and offers chemotherapy, medication injections, infusion and blood transfusion services five days a week, as well as weekly oncologist appointments.
