CARTHAGE, Mo - Cold and snowy weather did not deter Santa Claus or local children from visiting Mercy McCune-Brooks Hospital on December 5. Santa arrived via ambulance and more than two dozen children were here to visit with him and provide him with their Christmas Wish List. Mrs. Claus and two of Santa’s elves were on hand to assist with making sure each child talked with Santa and received cookies, candy canes and Christmas coloring pages. Therapy dog, Anna, with her handler, Barbara were also in attendance for children to greet and pet. Mercy co-worker Lois Prier played Christmas carols on the grand piano and after talking with Santa, a young visitor played an impromtu recital as well. Several families chose to have their photograph taken in front of the Christmas tree in the main lobby.
