Flu Prevention Tips

Mercy Infection Control Nurse Mary Wynn offers these tips to stay healthy this flu season:



  • Get vaccinated

  • Cover your mouth or nose when sneezing or coughing 

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth 

  • Wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap or hand sanitizer 

  • Use wipes to clean shopping cart handles 

  • Pat others on the shoulder as a greeting versus a hand-shake 

  • Stay home when ill 

  • If ill, contact your physician to determine if you need to be seen or if anti-viral drugs would be of benefit
