Mercy Hospital Hot Springs is proud to announce Dr.Youssef Yammine has been named the Physician of the Year.

Dr. Yammine, who is a Pulmonologist and Critical Care Physician, was nominated by his co-workers for the award.

“He is so wonderful to his patients, his co-workers, the nursing staff. He’s very patient and kind and will take time to make sure that all questions are answered,” said  Shanee Wright, Critical Care Clinical Nurse Supervisor.

Those relationships with his co-workers were cited multiple times in his nomination.

“Dr. Yammine is genuine,” said Terri Smith, Advanced Practice Nurse. “He cares and you can tell that he cares by the way he treats people. Not only is he very smart and an excellent physician, but he has really good interpersonal skills and his sincerity comes through with everything that he does.”

Each quarter, a physician is selected as Physician of the Quarter.  This year’s quarterly winners were Dr. Yammine, Dr. Robert Olive, Dr. Manjusha Kota and Dr. Charles Reeves. The Physician of the Year is then selected from these winners.

Dr. Yammine came to Mercy Hot Springs in 2012 after finishing a three-year specialty training program at the University of Oklahoma.

“The main reason I chose to be a physician was my interest in human physiology and disease process. I like to help people and make a positive difference in their lives,” he said.
