Sam Kilgroe, supervisor for Patient Accounts, has been named the 2013 Mercy Hot Springs Co-worker of the Year.
The award, which was presented in the Roland Room at the Mercy Women’s Center in front of an overflow crowd, recognizes the work Kilgroe did during the past year.
Kilgroe’s job requires him to work with a lot of customers on a daily basis. He always handles this responsibility with a smile on his face and friendly words.
“It seems like when you resolve a situation they look for you to help them with something else,” Kilgroe said of his job. “We try to do that. We really try to give one-on-one attention.”
He was nominated by his co-workers and selected by the Co-worker Recognition Team.
“He is very deserving. He lives the Mercy values and is a very Christian man,” said co-worker Jeanne Gardner. “Sam has high standards, loves people, loves what he’s doing and I couldn’t think of anyone else more deserving.”
Kilgroe was presented the award by interim president Patrick McCruden. He was chosen from the four quarterly winners, which included Amanda Carmichael, Shirley Tabor and Sandra Damian.
