Washington, Mo. – Shoppers unite, Mercy is getting ready to host its annual garage sale.
Area residents have been invited to donate their slightly used and unwanted items to the Mercy Hospital Washington Auxiliary Garage Sale, which will be held from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 1, and from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 2, at the American Legion Memorial Home, 1007 E. Third St. in Washington.
“We count on a variety of donations and shoppers each year to make the garage sale a success,” said Nancy Redhage, garage sale co-chairperson. “The great part about this event is that donors and shoppers can feel good about giving and buying because all the money raised benefits the hospital and those who are served there.”
Just what will be at the garage sale is usually a surprise for shoppers and organizers. “We don’t know until deliveries start coming in a couple days before the event,” said Redhage. “In the past, shoppers have found some great bargains on furniture, artwork, home and garden supplies, books – just about everything you would expect to find at a garage sale, and a few surprises, too.”
The community may drop off donations to be sold at the garage sale at the American Legion after 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 30. Admission is free to the garage sale, which is open to the community. The Mercy Auxiliary is proud to support the Hospital in its mission to provide quality health care services to the communities it serves.
