Deborah Bearce, PA, has joined Mercy Emergency Medicine at Mercy Hospital Healdton.
“I have a background in teaching,” Bearce said. “I always wanted to be a physician, but with life’s circumstances I obtained a teaching degree before pursuing my ultimate dream of becoming a medical provider. I value the teaching education I received and use my teaching skills when I discuss diagnoses and treatments with my patients.”
Originally from Kentucky but has lived in Bray, Oklahoma since she was 8 years old, Bearce is a 2008 graduate of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Physician Associate Program in Oklahoma City, Okla. Bearce spent five years practicing in an urgent care setting in Chickasha, Okla. and most recently practiced emergency medicine in Duncan, Okla. She has also worked part-time in the Mercy Hospital Ardmore Emergency Department for the past two and half years.
“While working part-time in the Mercy Hospital Ardmore Emergency Department, I was asked to fill in a few times in the Healdton Emergency Department last fall,” Pearce said. “I absolutely loved the time I spent with the Healdton community and Mercy co-workers so much that when a full-time position came open, I decided this was the place for me.”
Bearce and her family own and operate their own 800 acre ranch. When she is not seeing patients or helping on the ranch, she can be found spending time with her husband of 23 years, Brian, her 18-year-old son, Jesse and 15-year-old daughter, Bailey.
