In a handwritten letter to Mercy Hospital Fort Scott President Reta Baker, a patient describes that after a “disagreement” with a table saw in which part of his thumb was removed, he arrived at Mercy Clinic Fort Scott to see a doctor. He tells how Stephanie Hinton, medical assistant, “went out of her way and beyond every expectation to treat him with care and compassion.”
He continues to explain how Stephanie personally took him to the ER and stayed there to make sure he was as comfortable as possible. She then escorted him to outpatient surgery and made sure he had a ride home before she left.
He says, “I have never been treated with so much care and compassion. Stephanie is a very good example for all your employees to try to follow and an inspiration to me to be more kind and caring.”
