Mercy Hospital Fort Scott is hosting a Fish and Chips fundraising dinner open to the public on Thursday, July 17 from 4-6:30 p.m. in the Mercy Hospital Cafeteria.
Advanced ticket prices are $7 and are available at Mercy Hospital Administration, Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce and Country Cupboard. Quick, to–go service will be available with curbside cash & carry at the Mercy Health for Life entrance.
Proceeds will benefit the Mercy International Association fundraising campaign titled Preserving the Legacy. The campaign will support the advocacy efforts of the Sisters of Mercy as well as the House of Dublin, Ireland - the birthplace of the Mercy ministries, the house that Catherine McAuley built in 1827 to help poor women and children. Through Mercy International’s Preserving the Legacy campaign, we’re helping to raise money to preserve both the physical house and the ministry that has its roots there.
Gifts also support advocacy initiatives to reduce poverty, violence and racism as well as the widespread denial of human rights, the degradation of the Earth, the continued oppression of women, the abuse of children, the mistreatment of immigrants and the lack of solidarity among people and nations.
