Gladys Rind, licensed physical therapist, has joined Mercy to provide therapy services in Independence.
Rind comes to Mercy with several years’ experience in providing care for patients of all ages with musculoskeletal, orthopedic and neurological conditions in a variety of health care settings.
She most recently was employed by Deseret Health and Rehabilitation at Windsor Place in Iola, and previously resided and worked in Illinois and Texas.
Rind earned her physical therapy degree in 2002 from De La Salle Health Sciences Institute in Dasmarinas, Cavite, Philippines, where she later also served as a college instructor and worked as a therapist at the university’s medical center.
As a therapist, she performs patient evaluations, provides treatments, creates home exercise programs and recommends orthotic and ambulation devices. In the inpatient setting, she participates in care planning with physicians, case managers and nursing staff. She has experience in wound evaluation and treatment and provides rehabilitation therapy related to a wide range of orthopedic procedures including: knee, hip, shoulder and other joint surgeries as well as fractures; neurologic conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases and works with diabetes patients and those recovering from stroke. She also is experienced in working with arthritis and cancer patients, as well as those experiencing cardiac and pulmonary conditions.
Rind and her husband, LeRoy, reside in Chanute.
