Face it. Women juggle a busy schedule of family, home, work and activities. Sometimes the schedule is so busy it prevents them for caring for their own health needs.
In an effort to ease the burden of getting their annual mammogram screening, Mercy Hospital Fort Scott Imaging Services is offering women special Saturday hours on October 18 from 7 a.m. – noon for scheduled or walk-in mammograms.
Ladies may also benefit from free heel scan bone density screens, education materials, refreshments and give-a-ways made possible by a grant from the Hope 4 You Foundation.
Women are encouraged to schedule a mammogram by calling 620-223-7015, but walk-ins are welcome too. Walk-in patients may register at Mercy Hospital’s main registration desk the day of the event. Please present a copy of the patient’s insurance card, if applicable.
If Saturday, October 18 is not a convenient date, ladies may prefer to take advantage of walk-in mammograms available the entire month of October offered Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Insurance will be billed for the mammogram; however, diagnostic mammograms are not included during the Save a Life Saturday event.
No prescription is necessary if the patient’s physician is Mercy integrated. If experiencing any breast discomfort or problems, women need to see a physician for an order. Women should refrain from wearing deodorant or powder the day of the mammogram.
