ST. LOUIS - Dr. Martin Bell, former chief of staff and pediatric surgeon, has been appointed chairman of the Mercy Kids Board of Trustees.
As Mercy’s focus on caring for kids expanded beyond the walls of its two children’s hospitals in St. Louis and Springfield, Mercy Kids was designated as a separate entity in July 2011 with the first official board meeting October 2012. It’s comprised of more than 700 pediatricians and family doctors in partnership with 125 pediatric specialists.
“The Mercy Kids Board is fortunate to have a physician with Dr. Bell’s experience and wisdom as our chair,” said Dr. Joseph Kahn, president of Mercy Kids. “Dr. Bell is one of the founding pediatric specialists at Mercy Children’s Hospital St. Louis, whose life and distinguished professional career are devoted to the care of children.”
In addition to the two pediatric hospitals in St. Louis and Springfield, Missouri, Mercy Kids offers a full range of services to support healthy childhoods, including pediatric specialty and educational services. Mercy Kids serves children in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas.
