Lisa Burton, a family medicine nurse practitioner, has joined Mercy Clinic Primary Care Ardmore.
“My story in healthcare started at a very young age when I had the opportunity to learn CPR. That feeling of knowing how to possibly save a life just grew inside me,” said Burton. “I started out as an EMT and I’ve just kept going. I love taking care of people, and becoming a nurse practitioner allows me to be more involved in the patient’s care.”
Burton grew up and graduated high school in Lone Grove. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2002 from East Central University in Ada and her master’s degree in nursing from Walden University last fall. Burton works in partnership with Dr. Summer Kirby at Mercy Clinic Primary Care Ardmore.
“I want my patients to walk away feeling that they were heard and had a part in their care. I want them to feel that together we healed what was broken,” Burton said.
Burton lives in Lone Grove with her husband, Clint, who also grew up in the Ardmore area, and their daughter. They are members of Maranatha Free Will Baptist Church. Burton has worked for Mercy in various roles for 17 years.
“Working for Mercy allows me to follow my servant heart and that is something very important to me,” Burton said.
