Amanda Stice, APRN, nurse practitioner, has joined Mercy Independence to provide services at Mercy Clinic Primary Care and Mercy Convenient Care, 800 W. Laurel.
Stice most recently practiced at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, where she had worked in various patient care areas, including the Cardiothoracic Progressive Care Unit, urology, ENT and medical/surgical units and also served as preceptor for new hires and students.
She earned a Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Nursing; and a Bachelor’s in Nursing degree from Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe. She also studied at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park.
Stice and her husband, Craig, a native of Altamont, have relocated to Independence. They have a 2-year-old son, Mason, and a 3-month-old daughter, Madison.
At Mercy, Stice will support the other primary care providers at Mercy Clinic and will primarily practice in Mercy Convenient Care, offering care for minor emergencies, including ear aches, intestinal problems, minor lacerations, insect bites, rashes, headaches, flu and more. The convenient care service is open Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and lab and X-ray services are available.
