Cindy Carmichael will return to Mercy Hospital Ardmore as chief operating officer, six years after she left the community to oversee strategic development for Mercy statewide. Mary Garber, who currently is vice president and chief financial officer of Mercy Hospital Ada, will expand her role to include Ardmore.
During Carmichael’s six-year tenure as vice president of strategic development, Mercy has added hospitals in Ada, El Reno, Tishomingo, Logan County, Watonga and Kingfisher, as well as managing Seiling Municipal Hospital and OSU Medical Center in Tulsa. Carmichael began her career with Mercy eight years ago in Ardmore as vice president of ambulatory services, where she more than doubled the number of Mercy physicians and spearheaded the transition to electronic health records.
Prior to joining Mercy, Carmichael was CEO of Moore Medical Center and Seminole Medical Center. She is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Garber has been with Mercy for six years, and during this time she has helped lead the work in restoring the financial health of Mercy Hospital Ada. In her new role, she will spend time each week in Ardmore and Ada. Garber is a certified public accountant and previously was a senior vice president with Vision Bank and president of Hart Tackle Co.
“The strength and expertise that Cindy and Mary bring to Mercy in southern Oklahoma will help us continue the important work already underway,” said Daryle Voss, president of Mercy Hospital Ardmore. “This is good news for Mercy and good news for Ardmore.”
Carmichael and Garber will begin their new responsibilities April 13.
